Head of the Directing Studio.

Has been teaching since 1996.

Several times laureate of the Golden Spotlight, St. Petersburg’s highest theatre award, laureate of Spelmanu Nakts, Latvia’s highest theatre award. Has participated and won awards on many occasions at various national and international theatre festivals, among them the Seagull, Moscow Theatre Spring, Golden Mask, Rainbow Festival in St. Petersburg, Pushkin Festival in Pskov, Chekhov Festival in Yalta, Russian Comedy in Rostov-on-Don, Youth Festival in Tbilisi (Georgia) and Voices of History in Vologda.

Director of over a hundred productions, participant of over 70 festivals and competitions, including productions in the Eugene O’Neil Institute (Connecticut, USA) and Yale School of Drama (New Haven, USA). Member of the jury in over 20 different theatre festivals.

Among his students are leading theatre directors in Russia and theatre actors in different countries.

G. R. Trostyanetsky conducts master classes and directing workshops in various Russian cities (Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don, Tyumen, Ulan-Ude, Kansk, Krasnoyarsk, Orel, Perm) and abroad (USA, Netherlands, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia).
